You could say I spend way too much time browsing on my laptop, but I say it's all worth it if I can share what I know and what I've found, with others. Here are the places where I spend most of my time, when I'm looking to be inspired or seeking new knowledge or searching for answers or looking to restore my faith in humanity...

Design Matters with Debbie Millman

A podcast you won't be able to put a stop to once you've started... Design Matters by Debbie Millman is the world’s first and longest-running podcast about design and captures the stories of some of the most influential and thought-provoking industry leaders of our time.

I admire Debbie for many reasons; her journey, her intellect, her thoughtful questions and her ability to actively listen to those who she's interviewing.

Invisibilia

An all-time favourite and one I was captivated by the first time I immersed myself in it. Invisibilia opens the door and welcomes you in to the world of others, it builds on personal narratives and touches on subjects such as thoughts, feelings, expectations, biases, assumptions,  and cultural norms that shape our lives.

Listen to this when you feel like you're almost going crazy which for me, is quite often. This podcast illuminates everything about what makes us human, and reassures you regularly that you're never alone despite how bad a day might be.

Brainpickings

Maria Popova is one of a few people who I admire. Here's a woman who has found something she loves and is generous enough to share it with the world. Brain Pickings is a subjectives lens on what truly matters in the world and why... It explores science, art, philosophy, politics, design, history and much more.

The library of goodness enriches our mental pool of resources and ideas, and above all gives up insight in to the grand question of how to live, and how to live well.

The School of Life

A global education company that is dedicated to asking and exploring the great questions emotional and psychological life. The School of Life, through its many resources including The Book of Life and their YouTube channel,  are putting emotional intelligence at the forefront of their teachings... Something that we rarely, sadly, come across.

The School of Life has helped not to answer my questions, but more so to help me think deeper, more intelligently, about everyday living.

McSweeney's Internet Tendency

McSweeney's. The place where I spend most of my time whenever I'm craving humorous writings and where all of my literacy dreams come true. They exist 'to champion ambitious and inspired new writing, and to challenge conventional expectations about where it’s found, how it looks, and who participates.'

It's impossible to leave here without a smile on your face and in awe of the writing geniuses behind every article.

Headspace

Admittedly I don't meditate half has much as I used to and there was definitely a time where I felt bad for that which was quite counterproductive to the actual practise itself. Anyway, I've stopped that now and it's meditation has now become a practise that I turn to when I'm making big decisions, I'm processing a day or a situation, or I'm in need of some time out.

Whilst I couldn't give you a full review on Headspace which is based on comparison to other meditation apps, I can tell you that I've never walked away from this one because I've never needed to. It has everything you need for guided meditations sessions that can last anything from 1 to 30 minutes long and are based on particular life topics be that grief, depression, compassion, relationships and gratitude.

Moodnotes

This is an app I turn to when I'm going through a tough patch, although I would absolutely encourage others to use this regularly throughout the day if you can.

Moodnotes is a journalling app that allows you to track your thoughts but puts the focus more towards your feelings than the thoughts themselves. The opening screen asks you how you are, which is powerful in itself as its rarely a question we ask ourselves and answer genuinely, followed by a selection of positive and negative emotions that you're able to select and score.

A journalling gem, and the user interface makes it all the more pleasurable.
